    I was given a computer that will not boot up. Can I fix it?

    Hi all. I've been given a computer that wont produce any output through the VGA and the fan kicks on and off every 6 seconds. Is this likely to be a mainboard problem or a power supply problem? Any ideas how to diagnose?
