There is no evidence of damage to the keyboard visible from the top, so I evidently did not damage anything serious because everything still works.&nbsp; &nbsp; This is a very early laptop, XP. I have to keep an XP computer according to my Marantz PMD570 digital recorder manual to do the update on it's hardware, like I am ever going to get brave enough to try THAT!
