Help Needed: Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A1640 Shutdown Issue

Hey everyone,

I've got a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo A1640, and I'm encountering a strange issue. Out of the blue, it starts blowing extremely loud and then shuts down. I'm still learning about PC hardware,so I don’t know much and I've tried applying thermal paste and soldering the port, but unfortunately, it hasn't resolved the problem.

I'm keen on using this PC for some old Windows XP software since I prefer actual hardware over virtual machines. Any suggestions or guidance on how to troubleshoot and fix this issue would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your laptop is experiencing an overheating issue, which could be causing the loud fan noise and subsequent shutdown. While applying thermal paste is a good step to improve heat transfer between the CPU and the heat sink.
